Although I’ve mindlessly packed and am now ready to sleep, I’m pretty much still in denial. It really hasn’t sunk in yet.

Tomorrow is just another Sunday at Margit’s house. You’ll go downstairs, and the dogs will greet you as you tell Margit good morning. And then you’ll have work to do and you’ll complain about it to her. But then you’ll procrastinate and get no work done…

Yuh, that’s what will happen. I don’t care what anyone else tells me.

Anyways, celebrating the end of finals while wearing a tank top, hoodie, and my wool jacket is TWO LAYERS TOO MANY for mid-May. Wtf, Copenhagen. Give some sunshine here pleaseee.

Today was also a holyday, so all the shops were closed. We ended up walking through a cemetery in Nørrebro (we thought it was a park ’cause it was so pretty) and found H.C. Andersen’s grave! O___O

Yeaaah. That’s about it for updates for today.

Hygge brunch @ Studenthuset, Frederiksberg, DIS closing ceremony, movies, and then sleepover @ Randi’s tomorrow! Yayyyy :)

Yet, I love you. I love you for your culture and your awesome food. I love you for my newfound independence, self-reliance, and self-discoveries. I love you for making me go beyond the boundaries I’ve built myself — boundaries I’ve never really pushed until now. You’ve given me true friends — friends whom I’ll never forget because they’ve become so precious and a significant part of my life here; friends who have been there for me, advised me, and didn’t mind going out of their way to help me in any way possible; friends who made me feel loved, needed, and happy.

So I don’t want to go back yet. The cloudy days, cold weather, dangerous bikers, narrow cobblestone sidewalks, and crazy VATs are what I call home. I love the s-tog — NYC has nothing on that. But most importantly, I don’t want to part with my DIS friends. and I don’t want to leave the beauty that is called Europe.

But I’ll be back, Denmark. We’ll be back. We promise — we’ve already agreed on it. :)

I’m returning in a week …! T___T

I still remember the second day I was here or so, telling my parents, “There should be only 10 days left!!” I was homesick and felt incredibly lonely and sad, but now I really don’t wanna leave yet.

Seriously though, all my DIS friends need to transfer to Wesleyan. That would make my life.

BVFA. We’re definitely coming back and having lunch with Alis and Suzanne, hahah. And making our own Christmas risengrød. <3

Afterwards: Jane, Kelsie, Sasha K., and I went to The Living Room, an incredibly nice hygge café with candles and leather couches. Sasha A. and Katherine soon joined us. There, I gradually fell asleep to make up for the all-nighter I pulled last night writing my paper :(

At about 5:20pm, we left the café to get a shirt from Tiger that says være dig (be yourself). Although we couldn’t find any in our sizes, we did get something out of it — BVFA! Bedst venner for altid <3 :)

Finally, Jane, Kelsie, Sasha A., and I went to a dinner buffet at Riz Raz. They had THE BEST rice I’ve ever eaten! There we had the most hyggelig dinner :) :) the day could not have gotten any better. In fact, it was by far one of the best days I’ve had since I arrived.

I’m really excited to see their dear faces again for this ENTIRE weekend!
Saturday: Greek buffet dinner, Tivoli (maybe? depending on how frugal I’m feeling since I don’t do rides ;x), party @ Jane’s place, and sleepover there
Sunday: Louisiana museum and Experimentarium with the whole group. :)

On the other hand, 2 final exams + 1 project left to go before I’m free! =O

FREAKING TERM PAPERS. I CAN DO IT I CAN DO IT I CAN DO IT *dies*

I just got back from Amsterdam, Brussels, and Hamburg (alone! :D). What a different experience going solo — you meet so many more people and learn to take charge of your own time. You get to soak in the things you alone truly appreciate; I myself took the time (and pleasure) to snap pics of all the graffiti-ed happy faces I encountered walking around Hamburg. I had decided to take pics of them after I saw one smiling at me as I was heading towards Hamburg after a really long bad day. The smiley was like a sign that good times were ahead (as they always are), even though my bad day kind of just continued on, haha. But the next day was so good :)

I really enjoyed meeting people from so many different places — Slovenia, Kansas, Canada, Indiana, Holland, Turkey, Australia, and London. Although at the beginning of the trip, all I wanted was to stay in Copenhagen, by the end, I just wanted to keep on going. :| By traveling alone, I got to reflect on everything more thoroughly and learned to appreciate the little things so much more. But I think the bulk of what made it so awesome were the people I met along the way — everyone had different (and very interesting) stories to share. The kindness and generosity of strangers still really surprise me. And of course, the other part of what made my solo trip so amazing was the call for independence and self-reliance. Making my way around and being the one who decided what to do and where to go and when, made it all the better, especially in the end when everything has gone the way it was supposed to — then there was no one [but myself ;D] to pat on the back :) and honestly, that feels pretty awesome :D also, being able to buy [relatively cheap] Asian snacks to enjoy for the rest of the trip = WIN.
